India is Struggling to get Real Facts or Figures in Direct Selling


India is having approx 16% population of globe & there is one industry accross the globe which is creating opportunities for a common man.But in India this is the most misunderstood & misinterpreted Industry .

News are published about the Industry are not upto the mark with several reasons :

• News are planted in the market for benefits of few key players in the Industry.
• The persons who are working in the Industry have least interest & knowledge about the Industry.They have & create Motivation but not at all interested in gaining of Facts & Figures.
• Some Key Datas are misinterpreted by Company owners & professionals for benefit of their own.

I am Herewith mention some of the KEY NEWS ON DIRECT SELLING if you go through the articles you can better understand the situation in India.

• The Hindu,Report dated December 10,2010 States that Industry touched Rs 4120 Crores ( $915 Million ) out of which organized sector contributed Rs 3750 Crores.

          This report states that Industry accounted figure in 2009 was 3027 Crores in Organized sector.

          This report mentioned CAGR of 24%.

• Direct Selling - Mapping the Industry accross Indian States -FICCI  + KPMG  This is the most misinterpreted report in India.This report states that Indian Direct Selling Industry have potential to reach upto Rs 64500 Crores till 2025.

          This report states that Direct Selling Industry in India has size of Rs 7400 Crores in 2014-15.

          This report mentioned that between 2008-2013 the CAGR was 16% which reduced in 2014 to 4.3%.

• The Economic Times Report 7 December 2017.  States that he Industry is poised to reach up to Rs 25,826.1 crore by 2024-25.  This report states According to the annual survey report 2015-16 of Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA), brought jointly with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the gross sales of the industry increased by Rs 350.2 crore to Rs 8,308.5 crore in 2015-16 as against Rs 7,958.3 crore in 2014-15, a growth rate of 4.4 per cent

•  The Times of India January 2,2018   This News states  Direct selling industry may reach Rs 15,930 crore by 2021: ASSOCHAM.

  If anyone sensibly interpret the reports ,can easily understand that they have data of the Industry but No particular calculation for the same.

       If We check it with another way.

 Direct Selling Guidelines 2016  issued by Ministry comes into effect on 09th September 2016.Thereafter ministry issued a format in which all Direct selling entities need to submit their plan till 24th Jan 2017.

As per RTI put up by Dr.Ashish Rohatgi ,a reply received in March 2017 that 275 Direct Selling Entities submitted their details .Out of which only 126 Applications found with completed information so ministry issued a provisional list
